The JCB 3CX Elite offers exclusively the EcoMax JCB Tier 4 interim engine configuration that has been widely acclaimed for a dramatic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and particulates. Also we have empirical evidence from the JCB LiveLink telemetry system that this model in many applications is averaging under 6 litres of fuel per hour which offers an extraordinary cost saving over the life of the machine that simple cannot be rivalled by any competitors. To prevent any movement from the Loader or backhoe the hydraulic controls are neutralised and cannot be activated with the engine started until the operator has acknowledge the functions.
The JCB 3CX Backhoe has a one piece chassis from front to rear with a one piece bonnet that makes daily servicing an easy task.
The 3CX Classic features a 4 speed Powershift transmission with selectable 4wd. The 3CX Elite features class leading 6 speed auto Powershift transmission with torque lock for unrivalled road doing performance with high road speed capability.The 3CX Backhoe has a standard auto locking limited slip diff, which detects wheel slip without the requirement for operator engagement. Furthermore in the event of a quick deviation being required when the axle is locked simply turning the steering wheel will automatically disengage diff lock.
The Hydraulic system is a closed centre variable displacement pump with a max flow of 165lpm. The Auxiliary hydraulic lines are a standard factory fit for bidirectional and single directional flow. All of these can be activated from the left hand joystick. The exclusive in seat pilot controls can be easily isolated by a 3 way switch with visual alerts indicating whether the hydraulic system is activated or isolated. To protect all the hydraulic lines JCB have run the lines internally on the boom and dipper to reduce damage (except the auxiliary lines).
The JCB Backhoe has some fascinating backhoe features including a 5.46m dig depth, auto boom lock and factory engineered Hydraulic sideshift actuation which JCB pioneered back in 1999. JCB's Power slide Hydraulic Side Shift is a feature that is factory fitted. The hydraulic cylinder and ancillary plumbing are all placed behind the kingpost not above the slide rails. JCB are the only manufacturer that fit sacrificial wear pads between the kingpost and the slide rail for increasing the life of the slide rail.
